President Sisi invites Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah to visit Egypt

CAIRO – 15 November 2020: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi invited Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to visit Egypt, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.

 

The invitation message was delivered by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who paid Kuwait an official visit on Sunday.

 

The Foreign Minister sent President Sisi’s congratulations to His Highness Prince Nawwaf for assuming the reins of power and naming Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Crown Prince.

 

Shoukry expressed Egypt's aspiration to strengthen the close relations with Kuwait and achieve more bilateral cooperation in the next stage.

 

Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad sent his greetings and appreciation to President Sisi, and his aspiration to respond to the invitation as soon as possible.

 

The Kuwaiti Emir praised Egypt’s role in bringing security and stability in the region, and the Egyptian support for the measures taken by Kuwait to achieve the desired economic and social development.

 

Shoukry’s visit to Kuwait comes within the framework of continuous communication between the two countries to enhance bilateral relations and tackle a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

 

The meeting tackled various areas of bilateral cooperation and the regional and international issues that plague the region, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez on his Twitter account on Sunday.

During his official visit, Shoukry also met with Crown Prince Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, tackling the ways of enhancing the bilateral relations over the coming period in implementation of the directives made by the leaders of both countries.

 

Shoukry also expressed appreciation for Kuwaiti support for the Egyptian economy in recent years and for the active role of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in supporting development in Egypt.

Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah praised Egypt’s role in the region, sending his greetings to President Sisi.

 

Egyptian Foreign Minister also mt with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Ahmed Nasser, discussing various aspects of the close relations, Hafez said.

 

Both Ministers confirm their stance towards the most important issues of mutual concern and the accelerating developments in the region and around the globe.
