CAIRO – 27 July 2020: The Libyan National Army (LNA) Spokesperson Major General Ahmed al Mesmari said Sunday that his country seeks to realize a political resolution for the current crisis, however, Turkey and Qatar do not want such a thing to happen.

Al Mesmari added in press statements that Ankara violated the current ceasefire by sending more mercenaries in order to carry out the Turkish goals in Libya. He also said that the Turkish regime used commercial vessels to smuggle arms into Libya.

The arms included American tanks and Hawk missile systems, according to al Mesmari. The LNA spokesperson asserted that the national army will liberate the Libyan soil from the Turkish occupation and the outlawed militias linked to it.

He stated that a ceasefire in Libya is conditional upon a complete exit of Turkish elements from Libya.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights issued a new statistic on which it stated that the Turkish regime sent to Libya 16500 Syrian mercenaries linked to Ankara, 350 of them are children under 18.

SOHR added that 480 of the mercenaries were killed during the battles in Libya including 30 children and some of the militias’ commanders.
