Evangelical community expresses Eid greetings to Sisi

CAIRO - 23 June 2017: Andrea Zaki sent a celebratory message to President Abdel Fatah al- Sisi on Thursday ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

In his message, Andrea Zaki, Head of the Evangelical Church in Egypt and General Director of the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services expressed that he “wishes President Sisi and the people of Egypt happiness, blessings, stability and safety.”

Zaki sent similar messages from his behalf and on behalf of the Egyptian Evangelical Church and its community to various people including; Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed al Tayeb, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Minister of Religious Endowment Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, Grand Mufti Shawky Allam; and a number of ministers and governors.

Eid al-Fitr (feast of breaking of the fast) is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide marking the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Muslims are due to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in the coming days.
