CAIRO - 22 June 2017: The U.S. should designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization per a former President Bill Clinton executive order that bans dealing with terrorist groups, U.S. lawyer Martin F. McMahon said Thursday.

Qatar has been “sponsoring terrorism for decades,” McMahon said during a press conference Washington on Qatar's role in supporting terrorism, along with two former Al Jazeera journalists and a fellow at The Washington Institute.

The lawyer represented former Al Jazeera photojournalist Mohamed Fawzy in a lawsuit against the network for assigning him with work in Egypt without a permit from the authorities.

The countries that have recently cut ties with Doha, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt, have revealed more clues on that support, said McMahon, head of Martin F. McMahon & associates legal firm.

He extended his criticism to Al Jazeera, owned by the Qatari Royal Family, expressing his hope that the network and Qatari officials would “come to their senses.”
