CAIRO – 20 June 2017: An Arab youth campaign calling for boycotting Qatar collected 400K signatures on its website in a week, according to a statement by the campaign Monday. The campaign expresses disapproval of the “uncomfortable policies” adopted by Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the statement added.

With 78,288 signatures on the website, Egyptians account for 18.3 percent of signatories and rank first. Saudi Arabia came in the second place with 77,984 signatures representing 18.2 percent of the signatories, while UAE came in third place with 45,283 signatures accounting for 10.6 percent.

The statement said that the campaign succeeded on Arab and international levels after exposing Qatar's “terrorist policies” against Arab countries.

“There were attempts to hack the campaign's official website, social media pages and e-mail; but it will continue to maintain unity in Arab countries against terrorist groups by exposing Qatar’s heinous acts,” the campaign said.
