CAIRO – 11 January 2020: A dense fog has covered the skies of different governorates across Egypt Saturday morning, especially on highways and roads near water surfaces.
Thick clouds and unclear sky were witnessed Saturday in most governorates, including Cairo and Giza.

Meteorologists expected that the country will witness Saturday a dusk in the morning, accompanied with a cold weather throughout the day, with the temperature degrees dropping at night in Cairo, while reaching frost in Central Sinai.

Eman Shaker, the undersecretary of the Meteorological Center at the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), confirmed that the temperature degrees will be lower than normal by 4 °C at this time of the year. She said that St. Catherine will witness -2°C.

Shaker ensured that the country will witness longer hours of sunrise as of Sunday, where people can feel warmth during the day hours; however, low temperature degrees will continue at night. Experts said that Cairo will see highs of 17°C and lows of 9°C on Sunday.

While for Saturday’s temperature degrees, they are as follow:

Cairo: highs of 17°C and lows of 8°C

Alexandria: highs of 18°C and lows of 11°C

Matrouh: highs of 16°C and lows of 10°C
