CAIRO – 10 December 2019: Afghan Canadian Javed Shadan seeks to network with authorities and hear successful stories from peers during the third edition of the World Youth Forum set to kick off on Dec.14 in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Residing in Toronto Canada, Shadan is a graduate student of Civil engineering at Ryerson University – Toronto. He is a youth activist and at the same time, he is a member of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers and Earthquake Engineering Research Institute based in California.

It is Shadan’s first time to come to Egypt. He expressed his excitement to be attending the forum and visiting the country.

“I hope I learn about the ongoing plans and programs made for making the world a more prosperous home for all of us, with the help of which I can develop more practical solutions to the issues I see as most critical, and learn ways to bring them to reality,” he said.

Shadan is also excited to explore Egypt, as he believes this visit will change all he knew and read about the country. He says, “Egypt, being the cradle of civilization, is on my top list countries to visit. Its long and rich cultural heritage is an integral part of its national identity which fascinates me more than anything to visit this beautiful land.”

Speaking about the forum, Shadan considers events similar to the World Youth Forum have a huge impact on a country’s image, and “shows how much Egypt signifies the fresh blood generation and their positive contributions in the world.”

He went on explaining how this forum will positively affect his career, and further motivate him to serve the world without considering age, gender, religion, nationality, money or power.

Regarding the forum’s themes, he is specifically interested in attending the summit concerning environmental issues as it is one of the most pressing issues facing humanity today.

“I reckon this event is of great significance in empowering youth. WYF will provide a common platform to youth from various cultural backgrounds to come together and bridge the gap that hinder youths from playing their positive roles in making this world a better for this generation and generations to come,” he added. “It will enable us to obtain the acquaintance humanitarians and with the solutions, plans and strategies to overcome global issues.”
