Heavy rains expected to hit Egypt, EMA warns

CAIRO – 15 November 2019: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned on Friday from unstable weather and heavy rains that might hit the country.

The Ministry of Local Development affirmed its readiness to deal with the warnings, which indicate the continuation of weather fluctuations during the current period.

Minister of Local Development, Major General Mahmoud Sharawi, ordered to raise the level of readiness for operation rooms and crisis management teams.

He also ordered governorates to follow up on weather conditions and to communicate with the operation and emergency rooms in case of emergencies.

The ministry revealed that the deployment of emergency equipment in the streets was coordinated with the concerned authorities to deal with any unexpected events.
