CAIRO - 20 September 2019: Chairman of Middle Egypt Company for Electricity Distribution Raafat Shamaa told Egypt Today that the total number of electricity theft complaints filed by May is 40,553.

The total value of those is LE263.8 million. However, the value of 35,079 complaints worth LE107.2 million has been collected.

A source in the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy revealed that the investments in the sector between 2014 and 2020, including Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, are worth LE1 trillion. Of those, LE515 are allocated to the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity.

Such projects are aimed at securing the needs of citizens, investors, and development plans until 2050.
