No foot-and-mouth virus found in Fayoum: official

FAYOUM, Egypt - 7 September 2019: Head of Fayoum's Veterinary Medicine Directorate Mohamed Aql dismissed on Friday reports about the spread of the foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMD) in the governorate.

Fayoum is completely free from FMD, Aql said, clarifying there are some cases of Bovine Ephemeral Fever (BEF) which lasts for few days and does not threat animals.

He called on social media users to seek accuracy to avoid spreading such groundless reports.
