TOKYO – 27 August 2019: The Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) is set to kick off on Wednesday at the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Center, one of the largest convention complexes in Japan.

Egypt Today paid a visit to the venue, where the largest business forum in Japan will take place.

The exterior design of the Pacifico Yokohama brings to mind ocean waves, wind, and sunlight.

The venue has several halls, where around 170 sessions will take place.

Yokohama city is known for its expertise in waste management; it invited officials from Africa for training in Japan. At the Pacifico Yokohama, TICAD maintained sustainable policies like using disposable cups besides water dispensers at venue.

There is a wide working place for the media personnel attending the conference. There are also around 107 booth and panel exhibitions.

The events are organized by civil societies, private institutions, international organizations, and governmental institutions.

This year, the 7th edition of the TICAD will be co-chaired fort the first time by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, in his capacity as the head of the African Union, along with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
