CAIRO – 4 July 2019: The Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa inaugurated a number of development projects in Ghana on Thursday.

The inauguration comes on the sidelines of celebration for orphans and aims at developing life and support poor people in African continent, specially the victims of crises and disasters, said MWL spokesperson Abdulwahab bin Mohammed Al-Shehri in a statement on Thursday.

The inaugurated program includes projects of providing fresh water and baskets of food and medical services for orphans, in addition to building mosques serving the Muslim population in the countries of the continent, he added.

“The Association of the Islamic World is paying more care to orphans, who are considered one of the most vulnerable groups, vulnerable to various types of problems from an early age, especially in poor communities,” he said.

Al-Issa launched a project to provide fresh water to a large segment of the deprived people in places where they are forced to travel long distances for access to drinking water, the spokesperson said. The organization will fund digging thousands of wells to expand water networks for many homes.

Al-Issa opened one of the largest mosques established by the Association to serve thousands of members of the Muslim community, besides launching medical ophthalmological treatment campaign.
