CAIRO - 29 June 2019: Syrian crisis topped bilateral talks that took place between President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the sidelines of their participation in the G20 summit in Japan, according to a statement issued by the presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady on Saturday.

Rady's statement added that the talks between the two sides tackled several issues such as bilateral cooperation and the situation in the region and enhancing bilateral cooperation as well as developments in the region. The talks also coincided with the views of the two sides on developments in the Gulf region.

The meeting underlined the depth and strength of the firm strategic alliance between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and reaffirmed that the security and stability of the Saudi kingdom are part and parcel of Egypt’s national security, the statement added.

Kicked off on Friday, the two-day G20 Summit is hosted in Japan for the first time.
The second day of the summit schedule includes a G20 leaders’ side event on women empowerment and the summit’s third and fourth working sessions which will address a variety of topics including sustainable development, inclusiveness, inequality, climate change, environment, and energy.
