ASSIUT, Upper Egypt - 2 May 2019: Assiut Governor Gamal Nour el Din and Indian Ambassador in Cairo Rahul Kulshreshth Thursday inaugurated a workshop for making artificial limbs to serve people with disabilities in the Upper Egypt.

Delivering a speech at the event, the Assiut governor said the governorate is working on providing all forms of support and assistance for all civil society organizations that implement initiatives in favor of society and humanity.

The project comes as part of the state's policy to activate all community initiatives to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030 and sustainable development goals, the governor added.

For his part, the Indian ambassador said the project falls within the framework the Indian government's initiative to establish workshops for making prostheses in different world countries.

Kulshreshth added that his country has built more than 72 workshops in 26 countries, including a workshop in the Egyptian governorate of Assiut to produce over 500 artificial limbs for people with disabilities.
