CAIRO – 6 June 2017: Saudi Arabia will remain supportive of the Qatari people and cares about Qatar’s safety and stability regardless of the Qatari authorities’ hostile acts, the country announced after cutting diplomatic relations with Qatar early Monday morning.

Under a Twitter hashtag which translates to “severing relations with Qatar,” people shared posts titled Fraternal Qatari people asserting friendship combining with all peoples of the region.

“Gulf and Arab citizens feels sympathy with friendly Qatari people who lived for years under irresponsible Qatari commandership,” Saudi political analyst Ibrahim Al-Marey said on Monday.

“No matter what happens with Qatari authorities, the Qatari people will yet remain our friends. Disagreement between the Qatari government and other Arab governments does not necessarily mean waging conflicts between peoples themselves,” Electronic Saudi newspaper quoted a citizen called Rakan al-Motery saying.

Meanwhile, another citizen called Badr Ban assured that Qatari people will remain our friends though policies adopted by spoiled Qatari Amir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, adding that severing relations with Qatar is due to its hostility acts committed against Gulf countries.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain announced the severing of diplomatic relations with Qatar over "its continuous support for terrorism," closing their airspace and seaports to Qatari transportation on Monday.

The four Arab countries withdrew their diplomatic missions from Qatar.

Egypt said in a statement early Monday that diplomatic relations were suspended over Qatar's support for the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, adding that all airspace and seaports were closed to Qatari transportation.
