CAIRO – 28 February 2019: Arab Health Minister began the inaugural session of the 51st meeting of the Council of Arab Health Ministers with a moment of silence for victims of the blaze that broke out on Wednesday due to a train crash in Cairo's Ramses Railway Station.


Twenty-two people were announced killed and at least 40 others injured when a train locomotive collided into the buffer stop at platform number six.


Earlier today, Zayed said all of the injured are receiving the necessary health care and treatment.


Held at the Arab League premises under the UAE chairmanship, Health Minister Hala Zayed asserted Egypt’s readiness to offer its expertise and help inspire fellow Arab nations with its successful experiment in the national presidential campaign to eradicate Hepatitis C.


The minister affirmed the necessity of providing technological and financial support to revamp the Arab health systems to match international standards and keep abreast of the latest global developments in the health industry.


She further pointed` out that the problem of the Arab countries' limited resources should be properly addressed and priorities should be outlined to guarantee the provision of the best possible health services to Arab citizens.
