CAIRO - 24 February 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi affirmed to his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday that Egypt will continue deploying efforts to accomplish reconciliation among Palestinian factions as a step forward to achieve peace.

President Sisi asserted Egypt’s stance on the Palestinian Cause embodied in the two-state solution ensuring the recognition of the Palestinian State having as capital Eastern Jerusalem, and the 1967 borders.

The Palestinian president expressed appreciation for Egypt’s established stance on the Palestinian Cause, and its ceaseless support for a comprehensive and fair solution.

Both leaders agreed to pursue coordination on matters of mutual interest, particularly future measures aiming at accomplishing Palestinian unity.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Arab-European Summit held in Sharm El Sheikh.
