CAIRO – 11 December 2018: The Egyptian Armed Forces arrived on Tuesday, Dec. 11 in Jordan to participate with its Jordanian counterpart in the joint military exercises “Aqaba 4”, which will run until December 21.

The drills include different strategies and exercises, such as reconnaissance missions, surveying, rescue missions and boarding suspicious ships. All exercises were practiced through the coordination of the two sides.

"Aqaba 4" drills are part of a series of joint exercises carried out by the Armed Forces with other friendly countries to exchange military expertise.

The exercises also include land forces, Egypt’s southern fleet, commandos, paratroopers, the air force, and special navy units, according to a military statement.

Preparatory stages of the drills include theoretical and practical lectures on the military techniques, abilities of the participating troops to make the appropriate decisions on time, in addition to several training missions carried out jointly by the two sides.

The two armies are exchanging expertise to maintain readiness to plan, coordinate and conduct joint missions to face unusual threats and challenges.

In November 2017, the military exercises between the Egyptian and Jordanian armies launched “Aqaba 3”.
