CAIRO – 27 May 2017: Twenty-one marijuana feddans (1 feddan =1.038 acres) were torched in South Sinai over a week by the security forces, said the Ministry of Interior in a statement on Saturday.

The security forces also seized a total of 500 kilograms of marijuana during a campaign in Wadi Maeen and Wadi Habous areas, in cooperation with the armed forces, during the same period, the statement added.

On May 11, a small truck loaded by big amounts of marijuana has been confiscated in central Sinai by the law enforcement troops of the Third Field Army, said Military spokesperson Tamer al-Refai in a statement.
