CAIRO - 26 May 2017: Egypt's air forces held six intensive airstrikes on Derna, eastern Libya, on Friday evening, targeting groups affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) group, an Egyptian official told Egypt Today.

The aerial operation comes hours after the terrorist attack on a civilian bus in Minya, Upper Egypt, where at least 28 Copts, including children, were shot dead.

In a televised Friday statement, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi said Egypt will not hesitate to target terrorists inside and outside Egypt.

President Sisi declared during the interview that the army launched an air strike against terrorist training camps supported by IS to carry out terrorist operations on Egyptian soil.
