CAIRO – 22 May 2017: Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen arrived in Cairo on Sunday in a two-day visit, during which he will discuss the bilateral relations between two countries and the issue of the immigration of Egyptian students to Canada.

Hussen is expected to inaugurate a new Canadian university in the under-construction administrative capital. He also will visit the Canadian International College in Fifth Settlement district, eastern Cairo, to discuss the ways of immigration for the students who enrolled in the joint program with Cape Briton University.

Early May, policy announced by Canada’s Refugee Protection Division (RPD) is set to expedite processing of refugee claims from four countries, including Egypt and Yemen, starting June 1, announced the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRPA). However, the Canadian embassy denied it.
