Teenager reports bomb to take revenge on father

FAYYOUM - 1 August 2018: A teenager made a hoax call reporting a bomb to the police from his father's mobile phone to take revenge on him.

The high-school student, 18, called the police using his father's cell phone reporting a false dubious object (bomb implied) outside a famous fish restaurant on Gamal Abdel Nasser road in Fayyoum.

Fayyoum police directorate commanders, civil defense forces and sappers rushed to the scene and discovered the hoax as they did not find any objects.

Security bodies, however, identified the caller who was arrested. He confessed to have used his father's cell phone to take revenge on him as they are not on good terms.

The prosecution has launched a probe.

Fayyoum is located about 130 km south west of Cairo.
