CAIRO – 13 June 2018: Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta will specify on Thursday evening the first day of Eid al-Fitr, Dar al-Ifta announced in a statement on its official Facebook page.

"Do not rely on randomly published news on the internet, and always extract information from the Egyptian Dar al-Ifta,” the statement added.

In the same context, Head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), Hatem Ouda, announced on Wednesday that Eid Al-Fitr prayers will be performed in Cairo at 5:18 a.m. and at 5:19 a.m. in Giza.

Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, the Egyptian government has intensified its preparations by declaring a state of emergency in various sectors, facilities and archaeological sites.

Mostafa Ansi, head of the General Directorate of Tourism and Antiquities Police, said that Minister of Interior Magdy Abdel Ghaffar is currently following up on security preparations in areas surrounding attraction spots like the Pyramids, the Cairo Citadel, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh.

Security personnel will detect violations, impose heavy inspections over vehicles and tourist buses, and will ban hawkers and street vendors from going near these attraction spots to avoid overcrowding.
