CAIRO - 13 May 2017: The Court of Cassation is set to consider on June 24 the appeal by State Lawsuits Authority on Cairo Administrative Court’s ruling to cancel the freeze on ex- Ahly player Mohamed Abou Trika’s assets.

In January 2016, Cairo Administrative Court overturned the governmental committee’s decision to confiscate Abou Trika assets over alleged links to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood.

Mohamed Osman, Abou Trika's lawyer, has previously appealed the court ruling issued in 2015, which was later on finally accepted by the Administrative Court on January 10.

Back in 2015, Abou Trika's assets were frozen after being convicted of co- founding a tourism company with a leading Muslim Brotherhood figure.
