CAIRO – 12 May 2017: Ministry of transport denied the news claiming the increase in train tickets prices during Ramadan. The ministry confirmed that there is no increase in tickets’ prices in order not to incur any additional burdens on the citizens.

The Egyptian railway authority announced that it has finished the needed preparations related to Ramadan and the feast by taking strict actions to prevent completely the sale of tickets on the black market.

The ministry stressed that the authority is ready to face any emergencies, through full coordination with the transport and communications police forces because the security and safety of citizens are first priority.

The ministry asked the citizens to immediately report any problems, whether raising the train tickets prices or any other problem by calling on the hot line 147 or the government complaints portal number 16528.
