CAIRO – 9 May 2017: Cairo Airport security authorities arrested a passenger who threatened to bomb a flight coming from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday.

The 34-year old Egyptian passenger spoke “incomprehensible words” following his arrest, according to airport sources.

The airport’s control tower received a signal from the pilot of the Flynas Saudi flight, requesting police to deal with a threat on the plane. The flight landed at Cairo Airport and the passenger was detained by security forces.

Security sources at the airport said that preliminary investigations indicated that the passenger is “psychologically imbalanced.”
