Sisi talks enhancing Kuwait's investments in Egypt

CAIRO - 8 May 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi hailed close cooperation between Egypt and the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, a Monday presidential statement said.

This came during a meeting held between Sisi and the fund’s general manager, Abdul-Wahab al-Bader, at Al-Bayan Palace, where Sisi stayed during his visit, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.

Youssef added that Sisi highlighted the importance of the fund for carrying out several developmental projects in Egypt. The fund also depicts the distinguished relations between Egypt and Kuwait.

Separately, Sisi met with Kuwaiti members of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council, where he praised the role played by the council since it was established in 2015 to boost Egyptian-Kuwaiti economic relations, Youssef added.

Sisi emphasized Egypt's keenness on maintaining contact with Kuwaiti investors to overcome any obstacles facing them. He also stressed on the importance of the private sector to enhance economic cooperation between both countries through increasing investment opportunities and trade exchange to serve mutual interests.

The presidential spokesman added that the members of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council assured their keenness to increase their investment in Egypt, in light of the change taking place in many fields.

Moreover, they hailed the economic reform steps and coordination by the Egyptian government to improve business in general.
