CAIRO - 23 March 2018: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority said Egypt is in the grip of sweltering weather.

Low clouds will cover the northern part of the country, and precipitation is expected in the west. Most winds are south-westerly and moderate, most of which are active.

Mild sandstorms are expected in some areas of the country, and in the Gulf of Suez, this may cause a disruption of navigation.

The Mediterranean Sea is predicted to be moderate to turbulent on Friday, with 2-2.5 meter waves and north-easterly surface winds.

The temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius in Cairo, 37 degrees in Ismailia and Beni Suef, and a high 40 degrees in Aswan.
Egypt’s resort cities Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada are expected to see temperatures of 33 degrees, while the temperature in the coastal city of Alexandria is expected to be 23 degrees.
