CAIRO – 24 April 2017: Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi returned to Egypt on Monday after an official visit to Saudi Arabia in a bidto end the rift between Egypt and the Saudi Kingdom.

In a public show of good relations, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz received Sisi and the accompanying delegation at the King Salman Airbase before heading to the Royal Court in Riyadh.

Sisi and the Saudi monarch reviewed bilateral relations and aspects of cooperation between the two countries. Presidential Spokesperson Alaa Youssef said that during the meeting, King Salman, confirmed the deep relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He also stressed on the kingdom’s support to Egypt.

The meeting addressed fighting terrorism that is becoming a threat to countries worldwide.

Meanwhile, a number of regional and international issues of common concern were discussed during the meeting. It also focused on the necessity of boosting and developing relations between the two countries in different fields.

King Salman emphasized his country’s keenness to strengthen coordination between the kingdom and Egypt; a move that would contribute to the interest of the Arab region.
President Sisi invited the Saudi king to visit Egypt, an invitation that King Salman gladly welcomed, as he promised to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity.
