CAIRO- 20 April 2017: Egyptian air forces launched strikes at terrorist hotbeds in North Sinai, killing 19 terrorists and damaging four vehicles owned by takfiri elements, according to a statement by the Military Spokesperson, Thursday.

The statement said that one of the leaders of the Sinai-based militant group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (ABM) is among the dead.

Pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group in 2014, ABM had launched several attacks targeting mainly army and police forces in the northern tip of the peninsula.

The extremist group claimed responsibility for deadly bombings targeted two Egyptian churches on Palm Sunday, killing at least 45 and injuring over hundred people.
