EL ARISH, Egypt - 5 January 2018: A wave of bad weather hit North Sinai governorate on Friday, bringing life to a standstill because of the high winds and intermittent rains.

The streets are free from pedestrians and the commercial activity is totally paralyzed due to the strong winds that whipped up sand dunes and halted traffic on some highways.

North Sinai is on high alert to face any emergencies following the pouring rains, gusty winds and a sharp drop in temperature that hit the governorate.
