CAIRO- 9 April 2017; Egypt has declared state of emergency for three month, in response to deadly attacks that targeted Coptic churches on Palm Sunday.

President Abdel Fatah ِِِِAl-Sisi made the announced following National Defense Council meeting Sunday evening.

Sisi said that the council's decisions, including "declaring state of emergency for three months until restoring security," directing the state security apparatus to intensity its efforts to catch the perpetrators of the Palm Sunday terrorist attacks and establishing the higher council for fighting terrorism.

"Today we are paying the price of defeating terrorism, we will continue building the country and face all challenges united," Sisi said.

Al-Sisi also urged the media to stick with accuracy and use a discourse that unite the Egyptians in face of challenges.
