Cairo – 28 February 2017: Muslim and Christian delegations from 50 countries gathered in Cairo on Tuesday for a conference titled Freedom, Citizenship, Integrity and Diversity,

Youm7 reported.



The two-day conference was co-organized by Al-Azhar and the Muslim Council of Elders and held under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

Participants included Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb and Coptic Pope Tawadros II, as well as Muslim and Christian intellectuals, scholars and clerics.

The conference concluded with Al-Azhar issuing a declaration which emphasized the co-existence between Muslims and Christians.
