MUSCAT - 9 November 2017: Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi on Thursday ruled out the possibility that the escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran would lead to a comprehensive confrontation.

He highlighted that the Sultanate of Oman is playing a neutral role that aims to find solutions to crises in the region, including the Yemeni crisis.

In statements, Alawi said that Saudi Arabia is witnessing a new phase of growth and development which would create new interests and changes on both domestic, regional and international levels, Al Roya newspaper reported.

Leaderships in both countries view the situation accurately and such obstacles would be removed in a time, Alawi noted.

As a partner in the region, the Sultanate should play a major role in mediating and bringing different perspectives closer, Alawi added.
