CAIRO – 5 November 2017: Egypt strongly condemned the firing of a ballistic missile by al-Houthi militia towards the north of Riyadh city in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement on Sunday.

Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces have intercepted the missile north of King Khaled Airport and there were no reported casualties.

Egypt stands with the Saudi government and people in all measures taken by the Kingdom's government to maintain its security and stability in the face of this brutal aggression, the statement added.

“Such actions, which target the security and stability of the Kingdom and the region, will enhance the Arab coalition countries’ determination to restore legitimacy in Yemen,” the statement read.
