Sameh Shoukry participates in meeting on Yemeni crisis

CAIRO – 29 October 2017: Foreign Affairs Minister Sameh Shoukry participated in a meeting held on Sunday in Riyadh with the foreign ministers and chiefs of staff of the countries constituting the coalition supporting the current Yemeni-elected regime.

Participants would hold talks on the latest developments in the Yemeni crisis and coordinate between member states.

The meeting will tackle three main topics; firstly, the military aspect will be discussed in order to evaluate the security status and the ongoing military operations. Secondly, the political aspect will be discussed with the aim of reaching a political solution aligned with the decisions of the Security Council on Yemen as well as the national dialogue and the Gulf initiative. Finally, the humanitarian aspect will be discussed with the aim of providing aid to civilians and assuming reconstruction.
