CAIRO – 14 October 2017: Parliament Speaker, Ali Abdel Aal, discussed on Saturday with President of Belarus National Assembly Mikhail Myasnikovic how to finish the measures to open the Egyptian Embassy in Minsk as fast as possible.

During the meeting Abdel Aal confirmed the importance of establishing an Egyptian Embassy in Belarus, indicating that this will promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.

For its part, the Belarusian Authority devoted a plot of land to the Egyptian diplomacy to build the embassy.

This came on the sidelines as the parliamentary delegation left on Friday for Russia's Saint Petersburg to participate in the 137th session of the (IPU), due to be held on Saturday.

Parliament Speaker Abdel Aal arrived in Saint Petersburg on Wednesday to lead the Egyptian delegation that comprises eight MPs to take part in the meetings.

The IPU session is scheduled to tackle "promoting cultural pluralism and peace through inter-faith and inter-ethnic dialogue;" in addition to other issues set on the agenda of the Assembly, topped by the election of the IPU president.

The Egyptian speaker will chair the participating parliamentary delegation in the IPU's executive committee meeting, due to start later on Saturday, as a representative of the Arab group.
