CAIRO- 1 September 2017: A ban on taking electronic devices such as laptops on aircraft cabins on flights from Egypt to London has been lifted, according to a statement by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The ban was lifted after British authorities confirmed that security measures on Egypt’s flights "met the requirements of the British Transportation Security Administration," according to the statement.

London’s decision was preceded by a similar ban lift by the United States in July.

In March, both countries banned electronic devices larger than a mobile phone from accessing cabins on direct flights entering their lands from 10 airports in the Middle East and North Africa.

Egypt, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar are among the countries that were affected by the decision. Later, the ban was announced lifted in some countries.
