CAIRO - 25 August 2017: Qatar ordered closing the embassy of Chad and gave its diplomats 72 hours to leave, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, according to Reuters.

The Qatari regime accused the African country of joining a “campaign of blackmail” with its decision to shutter the Qatari embassy.

On Wednesday, the Chadian regime severed its political ties with Qatar, giving Qatari diplomats 10 days to leave the country. Chad accused the tiny Gulf state of trying to destabilize it through Libya.

Senegal said this week it had returned its ambassador to Qatar after having recalled him three months ago, in a bid to encourage a peaceful resolution to the feud.

Japan’s Foreign Minister will pay a visit to Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the UAE within a few weeks, seeking mediation between the Arab quartet and the state of Qatar, Japan’s Nekkei revealed on Thursday.

Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain severed diplomatic relations with Qatar since June 5 upon charges of Qatari funds given to terrorist and extremist groups in the region. However, Qatar denies the charges.
