ADEN - 17 August 2017: A bombardment by Arab Coalition fighter jets left six armed Houthis dead and nine others injured in Taiz in southern Yemen on Thursday.

Coalition warplanes targeted reinforcements sent to Houthis and former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Salah near Al Arish area in western Taiz, leaving 6 militias dead and nine wounded, field sources said.

The bombardment coincided with an exchange of artillery shelling between the militias and government forces in northern and eastern Mawza district.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni army set up an ambush for a group of armed Houthis seeking to infiltrate into a military area in Jabal Ham, the border between the provinces of al Jawf and Amran.

Also, sporadic clashes continued in Al Masloob district in line with artillery shelling by the Yemeni army of rebels' positions in the same district.
