Joint statement between Egyptian, Chadian defense ministries

CAIRO – 2 August 2017: Egyptian Defense Minster Sedki Sobhi signed a Joint protocol with his Chadian counterpart Beshara Essa Wednesday.

According to statement issued by the Defense Ministry Sobhi met with Essa early Wednesday during his visit to Cairo.

Several issues were discussed between the two parties including the military and security collaborations and relation between the two countries.

Essa is supposed to meet with several officials in Egypt including President Abd Al Fatah al-Sisi who will deliver him a message from his Chadian counterpart Idriss Déby.

On March, Chadian foreign minister Ibrahim Hussein described the relations between the two countries as ‘strong’ and ‘old,’ hoping to enhance and develop the collaborations.
