No overnight US-Iran strikes as Trump weighs next move, Houthis claim missile attack on Saudi Arabia

CAIRO – 25 July 2026: No US strikes on Iran or reported Iranian retaliatory attacks were recorded overnight into Saturday, marking the first apparent lull after nearly two weeks of nightly exchanges.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he has not yet decided whether to escalate military action against Tehran.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said discussions with Iran are ongoing and suggested Tehran is becoming “more and more serious” and willing to negotiate.

He warned, however, that Iran still faces a choice between reaching an agreement or confronting a significantly intensified US military campaign.

The relative calm came as Gulf countries hosting US military bases, including Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait, have reported no overnight Iranian attacks.

Separately, Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi movement claimed it launched a missile targeting the Saudi city of Jizan, days after the Saudi-led coalition said it had struck Houthi positions and destroyed assets threatening commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The Houthis claimed attacks on two Saudi vessels earlier this week.

The renewed Houthi activity adds another layer to the widening regional conflict, which broke out after the US-Israeli strikes on Iran in February, triggering ongoing tensions affecting key maritime routes in the Gulf and the Red Sea.
