Temperatures to rise across Egypt on Saturday, EMA says

CAIRO – 24 July 2026: Temperatures are expected to rise across most parts of Egypt on Saturday, 25 July, with hot and humid conditions prevailing in the early morning and becoming very hot and humid during the daytime in most regions, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

The EMA forecast hot and humid weather along the northwestern coasts, while hot and humid conditions will continue across most parts of the country during the night.

The authority also predicted a slight chance of low clouds forming over isolated areas of the northeastern coasts, the southern Nile Delta, Greater Cairo, and the Canal cities. These clouds may produce light drizzle in some areas, although no significant impact is expected.

Water mist is expected to form between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. over parts of northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

There is also a slight chance (around 20 percent) of light rain, which may occasionally become moderate, over parts of the northwestern coast and northern Egypt’s Delta at intermittent intervals.

Winds are expected to reach speeds of 30–35 km/h across most parts of the country at times, helping to moderate conditions during the evening in some exposed areas. However, the winds may also stir up sand and dust over parts of northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and the Western Desert.

Along the Mediterranean coast, wind activity is expected to affect the beaches of Salloum, Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Port Said, Damietta, and Arish, with waves forecast to reach between 1.5 and 2.5 metres.
