Egypt condemns Iranian attack on vital facilities in Kuwait

CAIRO – 20 July 2026: Egypt has strongly condemned an Iranian attack targeting a power and water desalination plant in Kuwait.

 The assault on a vital civilian facility constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the Gulf region while exacerbating regional tensions.

Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with the sisterly State of Kuwait, declaring its support for all measures taken by the nation to preserve its security, stability, and vital infrastructure.

Reiterating its categorical rejection of targeting civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, which poses a direct threat to civilian safety and regional stability, Egypt called for an immediate cessation of all escalatory actions. The Egyptian government urged a prioritization of diplomatic solutions to safeguard regional security and spare the population further tension and conflict.
