CAIRO – 18 July 2026: Egypt on Saturday condemned what it described as Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman, including strikes on civilian facilities and critical infrastructure.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks constituted "a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of these countries and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the Gulf region and further heightens regional tensions."

Egypt also reaffirmed its full solidarity with the three Gulf states and its support for efforts to safeguard their security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

According to Kuwait's Ministry of Defense, the country's armed forces detected and intercepted hostile ballistic missiles and drones that entered Kuwaiti airspace from early Saturday. Military spokesperson Col. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Atwan said the attacks targeted military and security sites as well as vital civilian infrastructure, including facilities in the oil, electricity, and water sectors, causing fires and significant damage.

In Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior announced that warning sirens had been activated and urged citizens and residents to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe shelter.

Meanwhile, the Bahrain Defense Force said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several aerial attacks that it attributed to Iran. The military said its forces remained on high alert and reiterated their readiness to defend the kingdom against further attacks.
