CAIRO – 11 July 2026: Egypt on Saturday called for building on the recently signed memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran to help reduce regional tensions and strengthen security and stability.
Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty discussed regional tensions with UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, particularly the US-Iran MoU.
Abdelatty stressed that the security concerns of the Gulf states must be taken into account, underscoring their security and stability as an integral part of the Arab national security system.
During the call, the ministers also discussed maritime security and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
They hailed the Egyptian-Emirati relations and stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination on regional issues to support security and stability.
