CAIRO – 10 July 2026: Konstantinos Tasoulas, President of the Hellenic Republic, received Egyptian Ambassador Omar Amer, Ambassador of Egypt to Greece.

President Tasoulas praised the remarkable progress in Egyptian-Greek relations across various fields, emphasizing that Egypt is a strategic partner for Greece and a key pillar of security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean. He also expressed his appreciation for the efforts made to deepen bilateral cooperation, elevate relations to new levels, and advance them to the status of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

 

Historic Egypt–Greece Relations

For his part, Ambassador Omar Amer expressed his sincere appreciation to President Tasoulas for the support and cooperation extended by the Greek leadership and state institutions. He noted that the meeting comes at a historic stage in Egypt-Greece relations, following their elevation to a comprehensive strategic partnership under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He said this milestone reflects the deep mutual trust between the two countries and their shared vision on regional and international issues.

 

The Egyptian Ambassador stressed that relations between Egypt and Greece have become a model of cooperation founded on mutual respect and shared interests. He expressed confidence that this positive momentum will continue in the coming period in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples. He also highlighted the enduring historical ties and longstanding friendship that unite Egypt and Greece.
