CAIRO – 31 July 2017: Egypt condemned the terrorist attack that occurred in Qatif, Saudi Arabia on Sunday night, which resulted in the death of a police officer and the injuring of six others, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Condolences to the family of the deceased victim and wishes for a speedy recover to the injured victims are included in the statement, which addressed to the Saudi government as well.

The statement stressed on the solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt with the Saudi government against the ongoing terrorist attacks and also promised its support for the eradication of attacks that threaten the stability and safety of Saudi Arabia.

The attack took place in Al-Musawara, Qatif in the Eastern Province at 10 a.m. The security men came under attack, while they were on a patrol duty, said Maj. Gen.

Mansour Al-Turki, security spokesman at the Saudi Ministry of Interior, according to the Saudi Gazette.

The statement reiterated the importance of the international community to come together to combat terrorism and create a comprehensive vision to stop the spread of terrorist attacks and addressed the financiers of such phenomena.
