Heat wave hits Egypt - file
CAIRO - 24 June 2026: The Climate Change Information Center at the Agricultural Research Center, in coordination with the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, issued an urgent warning to farmers and citizens regarding a prolonged and continuous heat wave expected to hit the country, coinciding with the astronomical and official beginning of the summer season.
According to early climate warning models, this intense heat wave is expected to begin next Friday and last for at least two full weeks (until July 9).
Dr. Mohamed Ali Fahim, Head of the Climate Change Information Center, explained that this period will witness three exceptional weather phenomena: first, a continuous succession of intense heat waves with a significant rise in nighttime temperatures; second, an increase in the flow of solar energy and radiation during the day; and third, a rise in relative humidity in the early morning.
