Citizens urged to avoid direct sun exposure as temperatures climb Saturday

CAIRO - 13 June 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) revealed that the latest satellite images indicate very hot and humid weather on Saturday across most of the country, hot on the northern coasts, and moderately hot and humid at night across most of the country, becoming warmer in Upper Egypt.

 

EMA noted that the highest expected temperature in Greater Cairo will be 36 degrees Celsius. High humidity will further increase the perceived temperature, reaching 38 degrees Celsius in some areas.

 

Citizens are urged to avoid direct sun exposure, especially during midday.

 

The Meteorological Authority also revealed that the country will be affected on Saturday, June 13th, by occasional wind activity in parts of Greater Cairo, the northwestern coasts, the Western Desert, southern Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea Governorate.
